The FY2026 year-end, step by step.

Dates counted in Gulf Standard Time

··days to 31 December

Calendar-year companies close FY2026 on 31 December.

The corporate tax return follows nine months later, by 30 September 2027. How smoothly it goes is decided in the next few weeks: ledgers current, every bank reconciled, the stock count booked.

    File the Q3 VAT return

The VAT return and payment for July to September 2026, or for September if you file monthly, are due by Wednesday 28 October. A late return costs AED 1,000 the first time, and unpaid VAT attracts 14% a year, applied monthly.

    Appoint your e-invoicing provider

If your revenue is AED 50 million or more, appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), the accredited platform that will send and receive your e-invoices, by Friday 30 October. Missing it can cost AED 5,000 for each month or part month.

    Run a pre-year-end review

Use November to reconcile every bank and card account, clear aged receivables and check the fixed-asset register, so December is a close rather than a clean-up. Where ledgers are behind, this is the window to bring them current.

Close the year and count the stock

FY2026 ends on Thursday 31 December: book your stock count for the year end and update the fixed-asset records, both of which the law requires you to keep. Cut off sales and purchases on the day, so each lands in the right year.

    File the Q4 VAT return

The return and payment for October to December 2026, or for December if you file monthly, are due by Thursday 28 January 2027. For quarterly filers, it is the first return whose whole period falls under the input VAT supplier checks in force since 1 October.

Finalise the accounts and the audit

Aim to finalise your FY2026 financial statements in the first quarter, and book your auditor early if you need one. On the mainland, company law requires every LLC and joint stock company to be audited each year, and corporate tax requires audited statements above AED 50 million of revenue, for free zone companies on the 0% regime and for tax groups.

If your revenue is under AED 50 million, appoint your Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by Wednesday 31 March 2027, ready to go live with e-invoicing on 1 July 2027. Clean the customer and supplier master data first, so go-live is about configuration rather than repairing records.

The FY2026 corporate tax return and payment are due by Thursday 30 September 2027, nine months after the year end. The return starts from your financial statements, and businesses electing Small Business Relief must file it too.

How we work

From first call to closed books.

Every engagement has a dedicated contact and an engagement partner, and every month ends with a meeting on the numbers. The fee is fixed and agreed in writing.

  1. 1

    First meeting · free

    A free first consultation

Tell us how your finance function runs today, what is behind and what is due. We flag anything urgent first: a VAT return, a backlog, an e-invoicing date.

  2. 2

    Before work starts

    A fixed scope, in writing

The package that fits, or a scope built around your entities: what we do every month, what we need from your team, and the fixed fee, all agreed before work starts.

  3. 3

    Onboarding

    Set up, and caught up

We set up your chart of accounts and software, with Zoho Books training for your team, and bring any backlog up to date before the monthly close begins.

  4. 4

    Every month

    Posted, reconciled, reported

Invoices, bills and expenses posted, every bank and card account reconciled, and the monthly reports reviewed with you in a meeting with your dedicated contact.

  5. 5

    Every quarter and year

    Filed, closed, audit-ready

VAT returns on time, corporate tax reporting and filing, and year-end accounts your auditor and your lenders can work from.

FAQs

All FAQs

Yes. Under the Tax Procedures Law, anyone conducting business in the UAE must keep accounting records and commercial books, whether or not it is registered for VAT or corporate tax. Company law adds that every company must keep accounting records that show its financial position accurately at any time. The duty sits with each legal entity, so a group with several companies needs a complete set of books for every one of them.

We post your sales, purchase and expense invoices, reconcile every bank and credit card account, and make the journals and month-end entries, daily, weekly or monthly as agreed. Monthly reporting covers a flash report, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, a VAT report and schedules to the balance sheet, with management information (MIS) reports from the Mid-size package. As an FTA Registered Tax Agency (TAN 30022834), we also prepare and file your VAT and corporate tax returns, and we meet you every month to go through the numbers.

Yes. Our clients range from start-ups to large corporations, including businesses with revenue above USD 100 million. Where a group runs several mainland and free zone companies, each one needs its own books, VAT position and corporate tax filing, and we keep and report on each entity. If your finance team needs extra capacity rather than an outsourced function, we can second qualified accountants or provide temporary staff.

We work on four fixed monthly packages, Start-up, Mid-size, Established and Enterprise, each including everything in the one before. Which one fits depends on the size and stage of the company and how much reporting, compliance and support you need, and a bespoke package is available if none of them fits. You can compare them on our Pricing page, and the first consultation is free.

It depends on your revenue, meaning gross income for your most recent accounting period as shown in your financial statements. At AED 50 million or more, you must appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Below AED 50 million, appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027; government entities appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 October 2027. Voluntary adoption has been open since 1 July 2026.

They go with you. If you leave, all your records and documents are handed over within 7 working days. That matters because the law keeps your company, not its bookkeeper, responsible for its records, even when a third party keeps them.
